About the Project
Constructed on the Gulf side of 30A in 2000, Ashlund’s family purchased Sea.Away from its original owner as their coastal vacation home. Since 2013, she has led multiple rounds of extensive renovations to design the home guests experience today.

A home that welcomes families year-round must be as considered in its material choices as it is in its aesthetic ones.
Designed for gathering, the main level centers around an oversized island that anchors the kitchen while connecting it to the dining and living areas. Large sliding doors blur the line between indoors and out, filling the home with natural light and opening to partial Gulf views beyond.
At a home just steps from the Gulf, the outdoor spaces are every bit as considered as the rooms within.
The upper deck was reconfigured to provide both covered shade and open sun, creating a space that is comfortable throughout the day and naturally connected to the main living areas.
Below, the ground-floor patio offers a more relaxed retreat, complete with a swing daybed, outdoor shower, and grilling area designed for gathering after a day at the beach.
