There is no minimum or maximum. We are just as happy styling a single bookshelf as we are designing a full renovation or new build. Small projects are often the beginning of a longer relationship, and they deserve the same care and intention as a large-scale project.

Yes. While we are based in Highlands, North Carolina and do much of our work in the surrounding region, we also take on select projects in other locations. We also offer virtual consultations for clients anywhere in the world.
Our design philosophy is transferable to any extraordinary community where the landscape is part of the story.

Yes. In fact, we often begin with what you already have.
Great design is not always about replacing—it’s about refining, rethinking, and recontextualizing pieces so the space feels more intentional and cohesive. Some of the best design moments come from reimagining pieces that already carry meaning.
We transformed a Massachusetts home without buying a single new thing — just seeing the space differently, and using what was already there in a new way.

Every project is different, and sourcing follows the ethos and design needs of the project.
We work with an extensive network of trade vendors, from nationally known brands to smaller, specialty makers — and we pass our trade discount directly to you in full. No markup. You get access to pricing that isn't available to the public, which often offsets a meaningful portion of the design fee.
Some of our favorite sourcing happens closer to the project’s home. A home that is furnished entirely from national retailers, however beautiful those pieces are, can feel assembled rather than collected. What makes a space feel truly rooted is often one considered piece that carries the spirit of a place — a handmade ceramic from a local artisan, a textile that nods to Scottish roots, a found object that could have sat on an mountain porch a hundred years ago.
We know where to find these pieces and we apply the art of knowing both when and how to use them.

You may be as involved or as hands off as you would like to be.
Some clients prefer to be closely involved in selections and decisions, while others prefer a more guided, hands-off experience. Our process adapts to your level of involvement while ensuring you feel confident and excited about every stage.
-
Yes. This is one of the most valuable services as you consider a large purchase. We will walk properties with you and your realtor, evaluating each home through a designer’s lens: the bones, the flow, the connection to the landscape, the design potential, and the realistic path to making it what you envision.
We have helped clients see past dated finishes to extraordinary potential, and steered others away from expensive mistakes.
-
Yes. We design Airbnb, VRBO, and boutique vacation rental properties with a focus on both guest experience and performance.
These homes are designed to stand out visually, photograph beautifully, and earn strong occupancy and consistent five-star reviews—while remaining durable and operationally practical for turnover.

Yes. We frequently collaborate with builders and architects as part of both renovation and new construction projects.
Our role is to ensure the interior design vision is fully integrated into the architectural and build process—from early planning and material selection through to final finishes—so that the end result feels cohesive, intentional, and true to the original design intent.
-
Yes. In addition to project-based design work, we offer ongoing and seasonal services designed to keep your home feeling current, considered, and beautifully maintained over time.
This includes our Seasonal Refresh service, which updates and refines your home throughout the year so it always feels aligned with how you live in it—whether you're there full-time or returning to a second home for weekends, holidays, or extended stays.

We don’t operate within a single style.
Our work is guided by architecture, context, and the story of our client. The result is always intentional, timeless, and evokes a sense of deep belonging.
